Capturing culture
This collection of photography tells the story of the documentation of the installation of the massive sculpture of Ogún, God of War, in the Orisha religion. Created by local artist, Jason Hospedales, the installation of the sculpture began with a shango ritual followed by a procession of African drumming and song. This was done to welcome the sculpture to home of an Orisha devotee. The celebrations continued for hours until night to commemorate this joyous occasion.
